Since the new government in Ecuador created an official price of 5,50 dollars per box for the producers, many exporters anticipated the current problem for Banana boxes in Europe.
As we all know at the moment is the low season of bananas because of the diferent reasons like the apperance of new summer fruits, holiday seasons and the entrance in the world market of new countries producers.
And many countries are trading with prices almost impossible for ecuadorian bananas to challenge. For this reason small producers are beginning to sell the box for lower prices, which is affecting the market prices for the rest of the producers and exporters of Ecuador. The official price was established, but not respected.
It is our hope that the current government will find a proper solution, considering the real prices on this season that would work for all the parties involved.
